(NASDAQ:MAT) announced today that it has agreed to sell $250 million aggregate principal amount of 4.350% notes due October 1, 2020 and $250 million aggregate principal amount of 6.200% notes due October 1, 2040 in an underwritten public offering in which Banc of America Securities LLC and RBS Securities Inc. are acting as representatives of the several underwriters. Mattel intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including repayment of outstanding debt maturing in 2011. The offering is expected to close on September 28, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions.
